TWICE’s 6-month-in-a-row run continues as they have become our Charity Angel of March 2021. Once again, congratulations to Twice and ONCE. Let us see whether this run could continue further.

For last month we have a extreme tight competition between TWICE (2984 points) and BLACKPINK (2982 points), our first and second place, as they were only separated by 2 point. While TWICE had gained more first places last month (16 first places), BLACKPINK’s consistency shouldn’t be underestimated, as they were constantly ranked either first or second. Third place GFRIEND (2916 points) and forth place Red Velvet (2910 points) were also only separated by 6 points. SECRET NUMBER firmly held fifth place with 2874 points.

TWICE added one more Charity Angels into their bags as their total number of donations has become 45. Thank you all the ONCE who participated, you are those you can only make this happen.

Behind debuting

On in very last episode of SBS’s show Legendary Stage: Archive K, TWICE looked back their pre-debut time.

In the show they have reflected on their pre-debut time and what it took to debut as a K-Pop idol. As we all know, among all 9 members in TWICE, 4 of them are foreigners. About this, Sung Sikyung, the host of the show, asked whether those foreign members had to take special classes.

“Momo and I had taken 3 years of Korean classes,” said Sana, “I knew nothing about Korean when I first arrived Korea.”

“I only knew how to say hello in Korean,” said Momo. Sana agreed, jokingly saying that she said hello in Korean wherever she went.

As one of the Korean members, when being asked whether Korean members had to take Chinese or Japanese lessons, Jihyo surprised everyone by saying that she in fact got a Chinese language certificate when she was a middle school student.

Nayeon also pointed out that they could not debut if they did not have any foreign language certificates.

TWICE’s interview in Legendary Stage: Archive K has allowed views to catch a glimpse of how K-Pop idols in this globalised age must prepare themselves for debuting, and also showed us a less-known side of the K-Pop industry.

Okay. What is Charity Angel?

Every day, after the voting time (until 23:30 KST), the rankings are arranged and the person who became the first in the daily rankings gets 100 points, and the second gets 99points, 98 for the third, and so on. All these points are accumulated for 30 days until the 10th of every month, the day before the Individual Charity Angel announcement. The person who gets the most votes becomes the Charity Angel of that month. When Charity Angels are settled and announced on every 11th of the month (for the individual idols, for groups its 16th), 500k KRW is donated to charity organizations. In a few days, Charity Angel for the groups will be announced.

New reward for the winner of charity angel from 2021

Starting from January 2021, Charity Angel rewards will be added~ No only donating to charities in the name of the winner, we will also hang a subway billboard for the Charity angels! For instance, this is the subway billboard ad of our February Charity angels.
