227th Charity Fairy – Jeongyeon
Happy birthday Jeongyeon from TWICE and congratulations as she has become CHOEAEDOL’s 227th Charity Fairy.
Yesterday, November 11, was Jeongyeon’s birthday and TWICE’s fandom, ONCE, has celebrated by working hard and voting for their idol on CHOEAEDOL. She has received 74,999,357 votes and became the no. 1 female idol on that day. The 75 million she received also helped her to become our 227th Charity Fairy, as she has received more than 55,555,555 votes.
Thus, CHOEAEDOL is going to donate ₩500k to the MIRAL Welfare Foundation, a Korean charity that comprehensively handles problems related to disabilities that may be revealed in a wide range of the social spectrum, including physical and mental disabilities in the name of Jeongyeon.

Usually, in this part of the blog post, we take our time and talk about what our Charity Fairies or their groups are doing currently. However, as Jeongyeon is currently taking her break, it just feels odd to take about TWICE’s upcoming comeback, even though ONCE must all be looking forward to that.
Instead, personally, I believe it is an appropriate moment to say we are all together and we are all willing to help. K-Pop fandoms are the most supportive communities I have seen and come into contact with. We saw this when fans defended Jeongyeon when some accused her of gaining weight and laughed at her. K-Pop fandoms have always been those who stand up for the weak and injustice, as they have stood up and defended Jeongyeon. Of course, seeking help from professionals is by far the best and most suitable way if someone doesn’t feel well, but sometimes, a simple “How are you?”, “How is everything?”, “Is there anything you want to talk about?” is what it might take to help someone who is suffering. I remember my time when I was on Twitter, chatting about my everyday lives and other bits and pieces with other K-Pop fans. Even though I and my mutuals met through K-Pop, we extend our cares beyond that. This is what makes K-Pop fandoms amazing, and this is why K-Pop fandoms are way more unique than other communities. And our cares should not be limited to K-Pop fans or within the internet, as there are also people out there you may help.

So, what is Charity Fairy? and what is with the donation?
The title of Charity Fairy is given to the idol who received over 55,555,555 daily votes in CHOEAEDOL app during the whole month. Only the idols who have anniversaries (e.g. birthday, comeback and debut anniversary) during the month could challenge for the Charity Fairy title.
To honour the Charity Fairies, we donate 500k KRW in the name of the Charity Fairies. You will see the Donation Certificate within 2-3 weeks of the announcement on our Twitter.
