MC Kang Daniel
In a recent article, 10asia talks about why Kang Daniel is just the right person to be the MC in Mnet’s latest dancing show Street Woman Fighter.
In the article, the author argues that the Dance DNA inside Kang Daniel is what makes Kang Daniel the perfect MC.
The audience might not know that Kang Daniel was a member of the breakdance club when he was in middle school. He performed in festivals and events in his school and schools nearby. It was there when Kang Daniel started to develop his dancing ability, and more importantly, the foundation to be a good dancer. Kang Daniel even stayed at school right before the school close every day just to practice dancing.
A robust foundation in dancing, plus his experience as the main dancer Wanna ONE have provided Kang Daniel a lot of insights when participating in the production of Street Woman Fighter.
For instance, the positioning of Kang Daniel in the show, the author argues, is more than just an MC, but a guide. As dance battle is not something normal people would understand, Kang Daniel has become the bridge between the audience and the program, bring the viewers to the competitors.
Often, Kang Daniel would use the dance battle jargon. Although it is regretful that Ment doesn’t make the effort to explain what jargon means, we do get to know how knowledgeable Kang Daniel is when it comes to the form of street culture.
In a program that is without an audience, Kang Daniel has become the audience, the author points out. While the audience is not allowed to participate in the show, we the viewers could understand and feel the program a lot more thanks to Kang Daniel.
