201st Charity Fairy – Jin

BTS members have become our Charity Fairies back to back to back, as, after Suga and Jungkook, Jin of BTS has also become a Charity Fairy, on his 10500th day.

ARMY celebrated Jin’s 10500th day by helping Jin to become our 201st Charity Fairy with their 57,923,562 votes. They voted for him on the day and he ranked first on our daily chart.

Charity Fairy title is given to idols who get more than 55,555,555 votes on their special days. And CHOEAEDOL will, in the name of the Charity Fairy, donate ₩500k (USD 440) to the MIRAL Welfare Foundation, a Korean charity that comprehensively handles problems related to disabilities that may be revealed in a wide range of the social spectrum, including physical and mental disabilities. This time, the donation is going to be made in Jin’s name.

When world-famous BBC meets world-famous BTS

There are many ways to know someone is famous, but probably no one has thought about this particular way.

ARMYs were thrilled when they discovered that Jin, or in this real name, Seokjin, was mentioned in BBC’s English teaching material.

BBC Learning English, a Twitter account ran by BBC, mentioned Jin’s name in their recent tweet talking about idioms related to head. And the first idiom they were introducing was head over heels, which means deeply in love. And, underneath the idiom, the sentence example reads “Seojin is head over heels for Beth. He absolutely adores her.”

ARMYs, after seeing that, commented humorously, saying that they had changed their name to Beth. Suddenly, everyone is called Beth.

As they are artists that are held in high regard, there is no surprise that BTS and its members are featured on BBC in different channels. For instance, they were on Live Lounge on BBC Radio 1 last July, performing Permission To Dance, Dynamite, and covering Puff Daddy’s I’ll Be Missing You.

So, what is Charity Fairy? And what is with the donation?

The title of Charity Fairy is given to the idol who received over 55,555,555 daily votes in CHOEAEDOL app during the whole month. Only the idols who have anniversaries (e.g. birthday, comeback and debut anniversary) during the month could challenge for the Charity Fairy title.

To honour the Charity Fairies, we donate 500k KRW in the name of the Charity Fairies. You will see the Donation Certificate within 2-3 weeks of the announcement on our Twitter.
