On August 8, the day they celebrate the 5th anniversary, BLINKs has prepared a gift to their idols by voting and helping BLACKPINK to become the number one girl group on CHOEAEDOL’s daily chart. BLACKPINK, with 65,160,670 votes they have received, has received a Charity Fairy title from CHOEAEDOL.
As the Charity Fairy, CHOAEAEDOL is going to donate ₩500k (USD 440) to the MIRAL Welfare Foundation, a Korean charity that comprehensively handles problems related to disabilities that may be revealed in a wide range of the social spectrum, including physical and mental disabilities.

The fifth anniversary of BLACKPINK must be a meaningful one, as BLACKPINK has celebrated this very special occasion surrounding the concept 4+1, that is, BLACKPINK + BLINK.
When we look back to the last five years of BLACKPINK, it feels like we are always witnessing something incredible in front of us. We have seen their growth and became true international stars.
According to the data from the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, BLACKPINK is one of the most loved K-Pop idols, ranked third in 2018 and second in both 2019 and 2020. In particular, in Asia and Oceania, BLACKPINK is the most loved K-pop idol. Country-wise, BLACKPINK is the most popular in places such as Thailand (no surprise), Malaysia, and Indonesia. They are also strong in American and European countries such as the US, Brazil, Argentina, France, the UK, and Russia. They also maintain a noticeable presence in the Middle East and Africa.
The reason behind their global success is none other than the members themselves. Being beautiful and pretty is one thing, being charming is another, and BLACKPINK knows how to be just like that. And when you think about it, it is actually the meaning of BLACKPINK. In an interview, Jennie said, “we wanted to express the diversity of the group… and the different genres we could do and show you guys”.
