With 57,465,996 hearts voted to Jisoo, not only she was the no.1 girl idol on that day, but she has also become a Charity Fairy. That means, in Jisoo’s name, CHOEAEDOL is going to donate ₩500(USD 440) to the MIRAL Welfare Foundation, a Korean charity that comprehensively handles problems related to disabilities that may be revealed in a wide range of the social spectrum, including physical and mental disabilities. This is Jisoo’s fifth Charity Fairy title, and the second in 2021. We are happy to see BLINKs getting their idol another title, and we hope there will be more titles for BLACKPINK in the second half of 2021. Thank you for supporting Jisoo and BLACKPINK on CHOEAEDOL.

Pay with BLACKPINK
In Korea, there are a few things that symbolize how popular a public figure is. Previously when Jennie got her Charity Fairy, we mentioned the soju model phenomenon. This time, let’s talk about bank cards.
This trend, which to have idols crossing over with banks, has gone popular roughly in 2018. As a marketing strategy, banks hope to capture the next generations through the fame of K-pop idols.
And the latest attempt is made by BC Card.
Last week, BC Card has launched its first domestic crossover credit card with BLACKPINK. In BLACKPINK’s point of view, this is a new attempt after their previous fashion, beauty, and gaming endeavors.
This time, BC Card has launched 10 different designs of the cards, and all BLACKPINK members were involved in the design work. The cards also come with discounts such as streaming and ticketing, to fit the needs of K-Pop fans.
Speaking about this collaboration, Hwang Bokyung, the Managing Director of YG Entertainment said, “we look forward to the synergy effect through the launching of the new credit cards with BC Card. As BLACKPINK is going to celebrate their 5th anniversary soon, we hope, through this opportunity, to give fans a big satisfaction.”
