179th Charity Fairy – Jimin
Congratulations to BTS Jimin for becoming CHOEAEDOL’s 179th Charity Fairy. He is also the second BTS member to become our Charity Fairy within the same week after j-hope gaining his title on Monday. Jimin gained 68,569,623 hearts, the voting token on CHOEAEDOL, on Wednesday, July 7, as ARMYs celebrate the special occasion of Jimin’s 9400 days. By surpassing the threshold of 55,555,555 hearts, Jimin has secured his 4th Charity Fairy title. That means, in Jimin’s name, ₩500(USD 440) would be donated to the MIRAL Welfare Foundation, a Korean charity that comprehensively handles problems related to disabilities that may be revealed in a wide range of the social spectrum, including physical and mental disabilities. Thank you very much ARMYs around the world for their continuous supports towards Jimin, j-hope, BTS, and members of BTS. We hope members of BTS and, of course, BTS as a whole could be able to win more Charity Fairy, Angel, and Miracle of the Month titles in the future. Jimin’s two solo songs, Promise and Filter, are achieving spectacular results both domestically and internationally.
On Soundcloud, Promise has recorded over 280 million play count. That means the song has become the most-streamed song on the platform. This is also the first non-English song to reach a 200 million play count. On the same day as Promise attained this phenomenal play count, Christmas Love, Jimin’s second solo song, has also recorded a whopping 28 million count.
On the other hand, on the domestic streaming platform Melon, Jimin’s other solo song, Filter, has recorded a 118 million playback count. Not only it has become the most-streamed solo song among BTS, but it has also become the most playback song among all solo songs from idol groups.
On Spotify, Filter has also recorded 172 million streaming counts within the shortest time among all Korean solo songs on the platform.
So, what is Charity Fairy? and what is with the donation?
The title of Charity Fairy is given to the idol who received over 55,555,555 daily votes in CHOEAEDOL app during the whole month. Only the idols who have anniversaries (e.g. birthday, comeback and debut anniversary) during the month could challenge for the Charity Fairy title.
To honour the Charity Fairies, we donate 500k KRW in the name of the Charity Fairies. You will see the Donation Certificate within 2-3 weeks of the announcement on our Twitter.
