169th Charity Fairy – Hoshi
Congratulations to Hoshi of SEVENTEEN for becoming CHOEAEDOL’s 169th Charity Fairy on his birthday, June 15. This has been achieved by Carats, SEVENTEEN’s fans, contributing the hearts they earned in CHOEAEDOL and voting Hoshi in the daily charts on his birthday. He has received 58,516,821 hearts and thus has gained the title of Charity Fairy. Hence, in the name of Hoshi, we will donate ₩500(USD 440) to MIRAL Welfare Foundation, a Korean charity that comprehensively handles problems related to disabilities that may be revealed in a wide range of the social spectrum, including physical and mental disabilities. This is Hoshi’s first time becoming CHOEAEDOL’s Charity Fairy, and the forth member from SEVENTEEN to gain this title. Congratulations Hoshi, and thank you Carats.

Giving Back to His Hometown
On June 10, few days before his birthday on the 15th, Hoshi donated 100 million won (USD 89500) to Namyangju City Welfare Foundation from his hometown.
The donation ceremony was attended by Hoshi’s parents. Hoshi had been through a tough time during his high school days because of financial difficulty. Hence he would like to contribute back to the neighbors who are in need in the local society. Hoshi made this donation after knowing that, due to the pandemic, support from corporations and individuals has lessened, and more and more people from the local society need help.
“I believe that the influence and the ripple effect of a public figure donating are great,” the mayor of Namyangju City said during the ceremony.
“Thank you for not forgetting the local society and sending his warmest heart, we will work harder to find and help people who are in need,” the mayor said.
Hoshi’s 100 million won donation would be distributed to the care centers underneath the Namyangju City Welfare Foundation. The money would be spent to help victims of child abuse, single-parent families, families in which grandparents taking care of their grandchildren, and persons with disabilities.
Although compared to 100 million, 500 thousand is no way a big number, however, we are always grateful to have our users participating in voting every day, as, effectively, it is a way to help those who are in need in our societies. We can’t thank our users enough. Thank you very much to all of you.

The title of Charity Fairy is given to the idol who received over 55,555,555 daily votes in CHOEAEDOL app during the whole month. Only the idols who have anniversaries (e.g. birthday, comeback and debut anniversary) during the month could challenge for the Charity Fairy title.
To honour the Charity Fairies, we donate 500k KRW in the name of the Charity Fairies. You will see the Donation Certificate within 2-3 weeks of the announcement on our Twitter.
