67th Charity Angel – Tzuyu
BLACKPINK Lisa’s 8-months streak has ended as Tzuyu of TWICE has become our latest Charity Angel of April 2021. It was a super tight competition between Tzuyu and Lisa but in the end, ONCE has helped Tzuyu to secure first place in our monthly chart and crowned her as our latest Charity Angel. ONCE, you did it, congratulations, your hard work paid off. Thank you for helping Tzuyu to become our Charity Angel. We hope there is more to come from Tzuyu, TWICE and ONCE, and this kind of positive competition is what we want in CHOEAEDOL and K-Pop.

As mentioned, last month’s race is super tight between Tzuyu (2977 points) and Lisa (2968 points), as the top 2 are only separated by only 9 points. The third to fifth are all occupied by BLACKPINK Jisoo (2901 points), Rosé (2882 points) and Jennie (2869 points) respectively.

The school that has nurtured idols such as Tzuyu and Dahyun of Twice is facing a crisis that might cost it to be closed in the near future.
Last week, a petition with the title “Please Save Hanlim Arts High School” was posted on the website of Seoul’s Office of Education.
The beginning of the crisis could be dated back to February last year when the chairperson of the school board and the founder of the school Lee Hyunman passed away. Because of that, the high school has received a closing order from the government, as according to the Life Long Education Act, only a juridical person could run an education institute in Korea. If the existing institutes do not switch to juridical persons, the institutes would have to shut down.
Under this circumstance, Hanlim Arts High School did not admit any new students this year, and only Year 11 and 12 students are still studying in the school currently.
After the pass away of Lee Hyuman, Hanlim Arts High School has promised to undergo the unnecessary procedure of switching to a juridical person. However, due to financial difficulties, not only the school doesn’t keep its promise, 40% of teaching staffs were either dismissed or on no-pay leave, the remaining teaching staffs have to have their pays cut by 30%. After the last school year, 21 of 61 teaching staffs have left the school. Since last month, 14 teaching staffs have received either notice of dismissal or no pay leave, and the remaining staffs have to take a 20% pay cut.
The failure of switching would mean that the school could only open until all the current students graduate. The acting principal of the school said they are working on personalising the school so as to allow the school to continue and try to re-admit new students as soon as possible.
Okay. What is Charity Angel?
Every day, after the voting time (until 23:30 KST), the rankings are arranged and the person who became the first in the daily rankings gets 100 points, and the second gets 99points, 98 for the third, and so on. All these points are accumulated for 30 days until the 10th of every month, the day before the Individual Charity Angel announcement. The person who gets the most votes becomes the Charity Angel of that month. When Charity Angels are settled and announced on every 11th of the month (for the individual idols, for groups its 16th), 500k KRW is donated to charity organizations. In a few days, Charity Angel for the groups will be announced.
New reward for the winner of charity angel from 2021
Starting from January 2021, Charity Angel rewards will be added~ No only donating to charities in the name of the winner, we will also hang a subway billboard for the Charity angels! For instance, this is the subway billboard ad of our March Charity angel.
