Our 127^th Charity Fairy is Suga of BTS and it didn’t really surprise anyone from the CHOEAEDOL office. On March 9, ARMYs has chipped in their precious hearts to celebrate #HAPPYSUGADAY and they have gathered 91,739,428 hearts and thus help Suga to become our 127^th Charity Fairy. ₩500k ($440) will thus be donated to charity in the name of Suga. It is also the second time a BTS member successfully being our Chairy Fairy in this week. Congratulations to Suga, BTS, and of cource, ARMYs.

Celebrating BIG

One thing about the global popularity of BTS is that it allows us to look at some remarkably interesting ideas for different anniversaries and celebration from fans around the world.

For Suga’s birthday this year, three creative ideas of ARMYs from China have caught local media’s attentions.

First of all, Suga’s Chinese fan club BTS SUGA Bar from Baidu has designed a cardboard parcel box to celebrate Suga’s birthday. They have collaborated with CU Post, the delivery service provided by Korean convenient store CU and designed a one-off special birthday design parcel box to celebrate Suga’s birthday. On the box reads “HAPPY SUGA DAY 방탄소년단 슈가 생일 축하해”. The design also includes Suga’s birthday and music instruments such as guitar, mics, piano keyboard, turntable and sound panel. It is a colourful design and it really pops out. I am sure that even if the person who receive the parcel is not a BTS fan, they would still appreciate the design. The parcel box would be sent out to customers randomly. In this day and age when personal contact becomes rather scarce and staying at home has become the new norm, this parcel box idea is somehow a good idea to let people know about Suga’s birthday.

Another idea from BTS SUGA Bar is a 1:1 replica of Suga’s studio “GENIUS LAB” located in Hong Dae Main Street. Inside the replica there are equipment which Suga has actually used and Suga’s music videos and a celebratory video are being shown on the main monitor. Albums, framed photos, calendar, and other decorations are hung on the walls. On the right of the replica the aforementioned parcel boxes are also being shown (in an enlarged form). Also, flags were being put up along the road between Exit 7 of Hongik University Station and this GENIUS LAB replica.

The third birthday day celebration project by BTS SUGA Bar was a hot air balloon display in the Marina Square in Yeouido. According to report this is the first time in history to have hot air balloon display for an idol. BTS SUGA Bar has designed two hot air balloons, one was with the happy birthday message on it and for the other one, a character figure of Suga himself.

With such high-profile displays, surely Suga himself would notice all the birthday wishes. However, as always, it is the love from fans that matter the most.

So, what is Charity Fairy? and what is with the donation?

The title of Charity Fairy is given to the idol who received over 55,555,555 daily votes in CHOEAEDOL app during the whole month. Only the idols who have anniversaries (e.g. birthday, comeback and debut anniversary) during the month could challenge for the Charity Fairy throne.

To honour the Charity Fairies, we donate 500k KRW in the name of the Charity Fairies. You will see the Donation Certificate within 2-3 weeks of the announcement on our Twitter.
