122^nd CHOEAEDOL Charity Fairy – Wendy

On February 21, Reveluvies all over the world on CHOEAEDOL has gathered 65,278,410 hearts on #HappyWENDYday to celebrate Wendy of Red Velvet’s birthday. They have successfully help Wendy to be crowned as our 122^nd Charity Fairy. ₩500k ($410) will thus be donated to charity in the name of Wendy. Not only this is the very first time fans successfully helping Wendy’s to become our Charity Fairy, this is also the very first time Wendy becoming a donor on CHOEAEDOL. Congratulations to Wendy and all the Reveluvies involved. We are looking forward to more occasions like this for Wendy and Red Velvet.

Mysterious Record Shop

In January 2021, Wendy has become one of the four MCs of JTBC’s new variety show Mysterious Record Shop, alongside with music producer Yoon Jong Shin, Trot singer Jang Yoon-Jeong, and Kyuhyun of Super Junior. This is her first TV appearance since late 2019. According to JTBC, this music variety show is about introducing life stories of their guests and their favourite songs.

In an interview after the first pre-recording, Wendy expressed her thoughts, saying that she could not believe it when she first heard about the casting. She said she was nervous because this is her first time being a main MC, and at the same time it is her first TV appearance for a long time. On why she was willing this take this challenge, she said she loves recommending music and songs to others and she would feel happy when others love the songs her recommended. Also, she would also take this opportunity to learn a lot from other MCs and know more about others’ lives. “I only thought about being a singer after I came to Korea in my third year in high school and I don’t have other social experience. I would like to know more about Korean society through this program,” Wendy said.

At the end, Wendy said she has not met her fans for a long time, and she felt incredibly lucky to be able to meet her fans again through this variety show. Mysterious Record Shop is a healing show with lots of things to learn, Wendy said, and it would be nice if views could forget the tiredness through this show.
