65th Charity Angel – EXO
EXO, after regaining the throne last month, is our 65th Charity Angel in the Male Idol Group category. Congratulations to EXO and everyone from EXO-L. We are curious to see whether this momentum could be maintained, and we all love the see some close but friendly competitions, especially for a good cause like charity.

Last month we saw a close race between the top 2, EXO and BTS. While EXO was at the top for 19 days, EXO and BTS were only separated by 8 points (EXO 2989 points, BTS 2981 points). MONSTA X was third with 2926 points. Stray Kids (2869 points) and SEVENTEEN (2843 points) were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Donation History of EXO
As one of our recurring Charity Angels, this month marked the 35th time of EXO becoming our monthly donor. Cumulatively, 27,000,000 KRW has been donated in the name of EXO and we would like to thank EXO and everyone from EXO-L.
“Scene 1, Take 1, Action!”
While lately EXO members are focusing on individual activities, we would like to give a special mention to D.O.. Since 2014 he has been heavily involved in movie productions. He has been involved in blockbuster productions such as Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds and The Last 49 Days from the previously mentioned movie series, and also voice dubbing in Korean animation Underdog. According to reports, at the time of writing, D.O. is working on 4 different movies. He is going to continue his role as Private Won Dong-yeon in the Along With the Gods series and would be featured in a science-fiction movie with the working title The Moon. He is also going to take part in the remake of an Taiwanese all-time classic Secret, reportedly portraying the main character Ye Xianglun, who was originally portrayed by Taiwanese pop-star Jay Chou.
We in the CHOEAEDOL are looking forward to his performance on the big screen and we would like to wish him great success.
Okay. What is Charity Angel?
Every day, after the voting time (until 23:30 KST), the rankings are arranged and the person who became the first in the daily rankings gets 100 points, and the second gets 99points, 98 for the third, and so on. All these points are accumulated for 30 days until the 10th of every month, the day before the Individual Charity Angel announcement. The person who gets the most votes becomes the Charity Angel of that month. When Charity Angels are settled and announced on every 11th of the month (for the individual idols, for groups its 16th), 500k KRW is donated to charity organizations. In a few days, Charity Angel for the groups will be announced.
New reward for the winner of charity angel from 2021
Starting from January 2021, Charity Angel rewards will be added~ No only donating to charities in the name of the winner, we will also hang a subway billboard for the Charity angels! For instance, this is the subway billboard ad of our January Charity angels.
